Our nation-leading clean energy progress made in the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA) is under attack by a coordinated, radicalized campaign to ban the development of local wind and solar projects through the circulation of fear and false information.
These activists have already partnered with anti-environment politicians to pass local ordinances blocking new wind and solar projects, jeopardizing our state’s climate goals, financial savings, job creation, economic development, and grid reliability secured in CEJA. In fact, the area of Illinois within the Ameren service territory, where these campaigns are most active, especially needs rapid wind and solar to address potential capacity shortfalls.
