The funding for the programs Illinois farmers rely on to protect our water and soil is at risk. As lawmakers debate what will be included in next year’s state budget, they will decide whether or not funding critical sustainable agriculture programs make the cut.
To protect public health and our water resources, the state budget must secure further funding for conservation programs like the Partners for Conservation program. This funding will help support our farmers working to incorporate more environmentally sustainable practices through the Soil and Water Conservation Districts and popular initiatives like the Fall Covers for Spring Savings Program.
Contact your lawmakers and ask them to support funding for sustainable agriculture programs!
