The people of Pembroke township are fighting against a new fracked gas pipeline disrupting rare agricultural land, and they are asking for your support. Burning gas is responsible for more deaths in Illinois than coal and as clean, renewable energy sources become increasingly affordable, natural gas companies are hiking rates and expanding their footprint as rapidly as possible.
Despite these concerns, the General Assembly passed legislation to guarantee profits for Nicor Gas by fast-tracking new gas infrastructure in Pembroke. The bill now sits at the Governor’s desk and we need his support in securing critical public safety and consumer protection provisions in this bill.
Tell Governor Pritzker to support community residents and amend new gas legislation to secure critical public safety and consumer protection provisions.
Even though we can't target your decision makers for this action, you can still help by supporting IEC's work by donating today!
