While many recent examples of environmental racism on Chicago’s south and west sides have recently garnered media attention, governmental bodies at all levels have allowed dirty industry to concentrate pollution in predominantly Black and Brown communities across Illinois for generations.
Industry has been allowed to put profit over people for too long. The state of Illinois must step up to protect the health and well-being of all communities. In working with our environmental justice partners this legislative session, we have identified key legislative changes that will hold government and industry accountable.
Take action now and tell Gov. Pritzker and your lawmakers to take meaningful action against environmental racism in Illinois!
Even though we can't target your decision makers for this action, you can still help by supporting IEC's work by donating today!
