Folks have flocked to natural areas during the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting the growing need to expand opportunities for people to connect with nature.
Fortunately, the Forest Preserve District of Cook County Board of Commissioners will soon determine whether or not to grant voters the opportunity to fund our forest preserves in Cook County. If passed, the ballot measure will generate over $1 billion to protect the forests that improve our air quality; clean our rivers, lakes and streams; preserve delicate wildlife habitats; and create new jobs across the county.
Urge your county commissioner to place a measure on voters' November 2022 ballot funding our forest preserves and thank them for their support!
Even though we can't target your decision makers for this action, you can still help by supporting IEC's work by donating today!
